Your blood is a river of life, carrying important cargo to all part’s of your body.  Red blood cells transport oxygen to the body’s tissues, and return carbon dioxide from those same tissues to the lungs to be expelled. It takes about 2 days for a red blood cell to be formed, and you produce about two million of them every second! Blood consists of 45% red blood cells, less than 1% white blood cells and platelets, and 55% plasma. There are many minerals in your blood, and it’s the reaction of iron to oxygen that gives blood its rich, red colour.
